MONTENVERS - MER DE GLACE TRAIN

The Mer de Glace : a glacier so famous that it has its own train, the famous Montenvers cog railway. Departing from Chamonix, it transports travellers to 1913m altitude where they may contemplate the largest glacier in France and the majestic summits which surround it : les Drus, les Grandes Jorasses... Enter into the blue walled ice cave (170 steps to access the Ice Cave) and discover a fascinating play on light and colour.

THE VALLEY BLANCHE

Mont Blanc, Grandes Jorasses, Drus, Aiguille Verte...The supreme backdrop for this immaculate 23km descent, which offers 2000m vertical, almost entirely on a glacier. Simply one of the world’s most spectacular off-piste itineraries. Booked this for a private transfer for a family of 4 between Geneva and Avoriaz. Didn't have much to go on so relied on an internet search and the positive reviews. Driver was at the airport when we arrived. Short walk to van and then off to Avoriaz. Gave us some good pointers on Avoriaz and especially how to get up mountain quickly for skiing. Return trip was the same. Exactly as planned . Vans appear new, Drivers were helpful and professional. I both highly recommend and would certainly use again..
